I want a company registered, but i don't know what are required and the things I should do. Please help.
It depends on the type of the company you wish to register. There are LTD, PLC and others but i suppose what you want is a Limited Liability Company (LTD) of 1milion share capital. To register such you will need to come up with the name of the company, and an alternative name in case the first one wasn’t accepted by CAC.
Aside the name, you need to also provide particulars of directors and Shareholders. That is to say, their name, address, phone number, email, means of ID of the directors and shareholders. The kind of ID accepted are drivers licence, intl passport, voter card, national ID. You also need to provide the share aggregate, that is how much share for each person, as well as the details and objects of the company.
If what you are registering is a company that requires some special services, such as school, hospital, pharmacy, you will have to provide what is called proficiency certificate. That is a certificate of any of the shareholders, showing he or she is a professional in that field.
The filing fee, stamp duty and other processing fees for the registration are also part of the requirements.
With all these supplied, the details will be processed and printed, upon afixing your signature, the documents are uploaded on CAC portal for final processing of the certificate and other incorporation documents by CAC. The processing may take a period of about a week or two.
To make this easy, it’s always advised that you secure the services of a lawyer or establishments such as Businesslegal, offering such service.
